In mid-May 2023, the home of one of Kolektiva.social’s admins was raided, and all their electronics were seized by the FBI. The raid was part of an investigation into a local protest.
Why are houses being raided over a protest?
Why are houses being raided over a protest?
FBI: Because we can
Not a police state.
Guessing this is in relation to the situation happening in France, anyone know?
In mid-May 2023, the home of one of Kolektiva.social’s admins was raided, and all their electronics were seized by the FBI. The raid was part of an investigation into a local protest. Kolektiva was neither a subject nor target of this investigation. Today, that admin was charged in relation to their alleged participation in this protest.
It’s from May and it’s the FBI, so no, I would say it’s not in relation to the situation happening in France.
Alright, thanks for the answer!
Why the would the FBI have anything to to with protests in France? FBI has no business doing anything in France. France is in no way under U.S. jurisdiction.
Whilst this is true, the idea that world gvmts don’t help each other out is not reflective of reality.
For example, a French journalist who is very critical of Macron, recently attended a book fair in London. The minute he got off the train he was arrested under UK anti terrorism laws and asked to provide passcodes for all his devices.
Being critical of Macron makes you a terrorist?
Anti terrorist laws in the UK are used because they give the Police extended powers with no need to establish suspicion.
Cops helping cops should surprise no one.
I doubt that this would comply with European privacy legislation.
That’s funny.
it says mid-may, has the france stuff been going on for 1.5 months?
