Netflix in May started cracking down on password sharing in the United States, and the decision has worked in the company’s favor, according to…
I’m curious how much of this might just be a temporary thing with upcoming releases and how much of this is actually going to stick. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Netflix starts losing subscribers come July or August, but that might also be wishful thinking.
I completely agree. They have gone at this with zero long term consideration, it’s always about the short term profits.
The same happens with reddit right now. Monetarisation, gold diggers everywhere.
I was honestly betting this move would lessen the subscribers dramatically. It seems I’m way off, at least in the US. Well played, Netflix. Still won’t subscribe lol.
I wonder if this will hold true for EU and Asia.
I read that in spain they lost 1million subscribers over night when they cracked down on passwords.
It’s amazing how much money grabbing is happening right now, but I’m hopeful that it will start a change in the end user that will lead to a better internet. Maybe not now, but someday hopefully!
Sad thzt this type of shennanigans work…
Stremio.
Well… guess they knew better than us! Will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the long term…
