So my truck was in for repairs from an accident. My insurance company covered the rental and they gave me a 2024 Super Duty Twin King Pro XLT-V8 Unlimited. It was stupid. Huge new truck. Probably $80k CAD new. I take a lot of pride in my 5 year old baby workhorse, so this sucked.

I stopped at an unfamiliar grocery store on my way home from work one day and was inside for 15 minutes.

Someone keyed the driver’s side of my rental hitting every panel front to back. At first I thought I parked like an ass or something, but I was a ways away from any other cars, I had parked so far away because the thing was so big…

My guess is some poor schmuck was walking to the liquor store in the same plaza, saw a truck that he couldn’t buy with 5 years salary, and just thought “fuck this guy”

Well, because my insurance paid for the rental, the visa I used as a “deposit” didn’t cover the insurance. Apparently it wouldn’t have covered a truck anyways. So it wasn’t covered, and the rental company did me no favours even after I had reported it immediately and explained what happened and had a police report.

So I was out around $1300. I know key dude probably thought I “deserved it”. I assure you, I did not. :(

Dumb shit wasn’t masked?!? EVs, especially Teslas, record their surroundings.

Anyway, the paint will come right off the stainless steel with a little mineral spirits or lighter fluid. Its a good thing they did not splash it with a 1:1 ratio mix of ferric chloride and distilled water. That would have been unfortunate.

“basic operational and information security” includes not creating and publishing incriminating evidence against yourself. That’s totally foolish

Depends on what your goal is.

If your goal is to show how easy it is to reproduce this action, and to hopefully get people to copy cat your action, it doesn’t work if you can’t communicate it.

      I would. IDGAF but…

The only cybertruck I know of in town parks across from the police station unfortunately.

I don’t know if that was good paint or the surface was just a perfect match for it, but I am impressed with how well it appeared to adhere.
