After announcing the release date for Overwatch 2: Invasion over the weekend, Blizzard has now confirmed you’ll have to pay for the new PvE content.

Thousands of hours in OW1. Stopped after playing one game of OW2 in a beta test though. One game was enough for me to uninstall 1 and kick the habit.

Everything felt worse and they massacred my main. The game was a shell of what the original one was and I’m so bummed it replaced and erased the great game that once existed.

Haven’t played or followed it since except for the dumb things actiblizz does with it that make the news.

Yeah, I hopped on OW1 about 6-10mo after launch and played daily until a year or so before OW2 launch when I got tired of no real updates. Just got my Gold border, endorsement level was perma-5 from playing support, had almost every item in the game save for a few emotes and voicelines.

Tried OW2’s beta, didn’t like it much but fuck it, games change.

Then everything happened. Over and over. And over.

20 mins before OW1 went down I logged in, blew every gold I had on whatever items I was missing, uninstalled it and battle.net and haven’t touched it since.

Nah, not really. If they ever come out with some good, story-based PVE that’s worth the price though in the future, I might take a second look. But not with the bait and switch they’re pulling right now.

I’m still pretty into the game - I really enjoy its core gameplay. And I didn’t even buy the Battle pass, this time around, as I don’t like the rewards.

I stopped playing OW around 2018, but a friend of mine was really into well into this year with OW2.
I’ve noticed they’ve stopped playing after the recent news about OW2 though.

The same year i stopped playin, and i was playing since beta.
I gave OW2 a try when it was launched last year and i like it still today even it’s not what it was promised to be, Lizzard should drop the “2” from the name.

Everyone I know who played OW has been following the news and updates for OW2 but as far as I know not actually playing. So to answer your question, yes… but also, no.

Yes. Tons. But you already knew the answer to that question. You should have phrased it “Does anyone else want to complain about Overwatch?” What validation are you looking for? Just uninstall if it makes you unhappy. GG EZ

FYI they were ALWAYS going to charge for PVE. See: capitalism. It’s unfortunate and disappointing that it won’t be what they planned. But just like the overpriced skins, you dont have to buy if it’s not worth your money.

I don’t mean to come across as toxic. The game itself has enough of that! But the rage bait articles, videos, and comments/posts of people acting like they’re in an abusive relationship they can’t escape are getting old.

I am NOT defending the OW dev team or Blizzard. They’ve certainly earned their criticism.
