The layoffs are affecting management and administrative positions. In total 25 unionized employees and 10 management and professional employees have been laid off. They were notified Tuesday, OC Transpo says.

Anyone here actually take the LRT? I heard they are adding new axels so things should be much better. True?

They were definitely more smooth and more silent when they started replacing them last year. It’s gotten worse since then, unfortunately. But not as bad as before the last derailment. I expect them to get worse as time goes until they actually get proper custom wheels and axles has been promised.

The LRT has had a lot less issues this winter than it did in the last few seasons. It is generally more reliable now and I would rather take it than the busses that are generally late or get canceled all of a sudden with or without notice
