Every time I see posts about coffee I just remember the Tumblr post about a Barista that had to fill a Venti with espresso shots while looking on in horror

One of my friends did this and chugged it. He had to be rushed to the hospital because he thought he was having a heart attack and can no longer drink caffeine.

Normal cup of coffee (8floz) = ~94mg caffeine

        (1) espresso shot (1floz) = ~64mg of caffeine

I think we can just stop there since holy shit, but:

Venti Starbucks cup (20floz) filled with espresso shots = 1,280 mg of caffiene

That’s a lot, but not even close to the lethal dose of ~10g, apparently. Actually surprised at how high it is cuz yeah, I’ve had almost as much caffeine before by acciden and it feels like you’re gonna die. I even saw someone who had exactly the same amount of caffiene (4 of the 4-seeving sized monster energy drinks you used to be able to get, 1,280 as well) go from standing to flat on the ground without warning. People thought shed straight up died

    Dan Campbell’s Starbucks order:

When asked about his daily caffeine intake, the Detroit Lions head coach casually shared how he starts his day with Starbucks and said, "Normally what I do is I get two venti. At Starbucks, I get two venti of the Pike with two shots in them. So, black in both. That’s what I come in with.

Two 20-oz coffees with two espresso shots added to each of them.

I don’t process caffeine well, I drink one 16-oz coffee before 11am and none after, any more or later and I’m up till 1am. I might die if I had his order.

Yeah, same, perhaps more of a ‘calm me down’ than ‘sleepy’ reaction in my case, but usually it just reveals that once calm I could/should in fact sleep some more.

Coffee after I take my concerta makes me feel sleepy almost immediately. But I still enjoy the taste so I’ll still drink it. (I have yet to find a decaf coffee that tastes the same as caf, it’s weird.)

Yeah, same. And I don’t even have a preferred taste - I almost always buy different coffee and alternate randomly between preparation methods (or even just the grind with the same method and same grains).

I guess I just like the process itself, not as a ritual or habit, but a simple and totally different task to what I’m doing at the time.
