What is microdosing?
Microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual doses of psychedelic substances, such as LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), psilocybin mushrooms, or mescaline-containing cacti like peyote or San Pedro. These doses are typically much lower than what would produce hallucinogenic effects, often around one-tenth to one-twentieth of a full recreational dose.
The goal of microdosing is not to induce a psychedelic trip, but rather to experience subtle enhancements in mood, cognition, creativity, or productivity, while minimizing any potential negative effects.
Many people who microdose report benefits such as increased focus, creativity, emotional well-being, and enhanced problem-solving abilities. However, it’s essential to note that microdosing is still a relatively new and understudied practice, and its long-term effects and risks are not yet fully understood.
