Hungary has the same system. Or “half five” actually being 16:30. It’s been hella fun getting used to “half five” meaning 17:30. Constant confusion.

Grove Street for life, homie.
Me, refusing to look up the straight answer online and trying to find the FRIENDS apartment only using the intro, going on Google Street View and finding it, before GeoguessR became a thing.

I think I can finally relate. I just had a Civilisation VI game last night where I was trying to win by the domination method (I’m still pretty tame, waiting for a casus belli to start a war), but suddenly three civs got way ahead in culture, science and military, so if I still wanted to win by dominating, I had no other choice but to just surprise buttfuck all three at the same time. The aztecs had been working on the space race already.
…so yeah, I guess Israel just realised that they need to chop chop before Iran builds the Mars base.
(obvious /s, it’s disgusting how such aggressors can just get away like that)
Dicska@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What can I do with this laptop keyboard?2·19 hours agoA bit cliché and it might not look great around the handle, but wash it and wrap it (trim it?) around a tall+wide enough mug?
I think I know the syndrome you’re talking about.

Edam.
The first thing that comes to my mind is cancer screening. I had to look it up because I can’t always trust my memory, and I thought there was some AI involved in the RNA sequencing research for the Covid vaccine, but I actually remembered wrong.
It’s especially spicy when you consider that one single normal League match can easily extend beyond 30 minutes. Hell, even a lighter mode (ARAM) can be 30-35+ minutes at times.
There are pretty great applications in medicine. AI is an umbrella term that includes working with LLMs, image processing, pattern recognition and other stuff. There are fields where AI is a blessing. The problem is, as JohnSmith mentioned, it’s the “solar battery” of the current day. At one point they had to make and/or advertise everything with solar batteries, even stuff that was better off with… batteries. Or the good ol’ plug. Hopefully, it will settle down in a few year’s time and they will focus on areas where it is more successful. They just need to find out which areas those are.
This line gets better every year. Drops in value over ~70.
I don’t get the downvote, it was confusing to me, as well. First I thought it was just me being a non-native, but unless it was a misspelling of the Caucasus, I really don’t see how the two connect.
Nah mate, it was already in existence by last Tuesday afternoon and there is no way for you to disprove it.
Now… thinking back of the original gifting… 🤔

Wow, you have yet another thing in common : ). Jokes aside, it’s crazy how many things games can teach you about.
