Well they aren’t wrong. They just come from a time with a lot less consumer safety. And we’re headed back with fake UL stuff being sold in stores. We kind of grew up in a golden age of consumer safety. We even made jokes about “don’t use grandma’s extension cord”.

  • I don’t care who his dad is the law is a thought crime that can get you put in prison on nothing more than innuendo. Make a bad joke about drugs after going to a shooting range? You too can go to prison.

And it’s rarely used as anything more than an add on charge because of its constitutional dubiousness. We shouldn’t be okay with this happening to anyone.

  • I support it. This as miscarriage as a miscarriage of justice gets. A politically motivated investigation turns unfiled taxes and a gun law that could imprison half the country (smoke a joint after going to a range and you’re guilty too) into a politically rejected plea deal and 25 years in prison?

That’s a fucking nightmare not justice. He should be on an IRS payment plan and monitoring for drugs. That’s the normal outcome.

  • We have numerous examples of outed whistleblowers serving a few years in prison and then being released. Even Chelsea Manning was released early after attempting a full rip of the classified documents she had access to.

The only reason for him to run to Russia or have a fear of his life was if he was already a Russian asset. And it’s worth noting, that’s generally a 20 year sentence, not death. Plenty of examples there too.
