        I hear what you’re saying, but any progress on universal healthcare has been at a standstill forever. Although it feels slow, it’s the right direction and might just be the way it needs to happen with all the corporate interests and red tape in the massively profitable healthcare industry.

        So I don’t necessarily see it as a standstill, but baby steps.

          The problem being that implementing a half measure over a decade would still require the Republicans to agree with Democrats, so this idea is exactly as difficult to achieve as nationalizing the healthcare industry entirely.

          If Democrats are going to have to wait for the next time they own all three branches of government to do anything, then the least they could do is not pull another Romneycare.
