if there is a good reason for this [and there really might be] please lmk; i assume it’s less stupid and addictive to not have hot posts. but it is annoying and basically un browsable
You’re on lemmy.world which is still on 0.17.4. I think that sorting algorithms were fixed in 0.18.0. Once lemmy.world updates it should be resolved. In the meantime, sorting by “new” or “top day” will work better.
A temporary mitigation is that the lemmy.world server admin can do restarts of the server a few times a day, which seems to fix the sorts temporarily. I’m guessing they’re probably already doing that, or you’d be seeing week-old posts at this point.
