It’s nice to see valheim on Lemmy but it’s kinda quiet here at the moment so I thought I’d ask what you’re next planning to do in valheim?
I’m currently just kind of idling whilst waiting for the latest update to leave beta. I don’t really want to explore any more of my map until it’s released. In the meantime I think I’m going to try and defeat yagluth (no spoilers please!) so I’ve been preparing for that, raising an earth wall around the area, brewing meads, making a safe area to rest if I need it etc.
We haven’t played in a good while by coworker recently got into it and has been telling me all their adventures so I’ve been craving to get back into it. In our current world we are up against the big blob so we need to sail around and find it. We made a pretty cool base with multiple buildings and farms in a kind of village layout in the side of a hill and I spent a good amount of time lowering the sides outside the workbenches to stop mobs from coming up. Next I need to get a proper tree farm going since we ran out of local trees and clean up our farm plots
Well, I defeated yagluth… it wasn’t so bad. I’d heard it could be real tough but I introduced him to my silver sword. He nearly killed me a couple of times (the meteors are nasty) but I had prepared well with a nearby refuge to heal up.
In to the mistlands now.
spoiler
The mistlands are tough. The terrain is very hard going and of course the constant mist makes it even more difficult. The seekers aren’t too bad… unless they’re starred and in a group, then it can get real sketchy. The gjalls are formidable but manageable with fire resistance potions and bonemass power.
It’s difficult to progress too, you need several different resources, some of which can’t be obtained until you obtain another. The plains is a walk in the park progression wise compared to the mistlands. In the plains all the stuff you need is all around and plentiful. I think I spent the least time in the plains compared to all the previous biomes. It was just so quick and easy to gather everything needed to progress.
I’ve been in the mistlands a little while now and still haven’t managed to make any of the mistlands tier armour or weapons. I’m getting there slowly, just built an eitr refiner.
Our medium term goal is to finally defeat The Elder but since we died two times trying to do so including loosing our armor in the remote island that he is located at, we plan to establish a small base with a portal on his island, but currently we are gathering resources (especially copper) for our trip in order to upgrade our armor to max.
I’ve played through pretty much as far as I can get without defeating The Queen, so my plan is to wait until the next biome comes out and then I will conquer The Queen and prepare for the next boss.
Did the same thing. I scoped it out.
I popped in to clear out anything that was in there and build a lil base. Didn’t know entering summoned the queen. Had to fight her. Had a lot of close calls. Mostly wait on bonemass. Attack during that period then back off while it recharges. Drop out every so often to repair weapons and restock.
I just found out about this game and I’m loving it so far. Can’t wait to get home to play
True. Once I am back home I plan to post some screens of my latest builds
I haven’t played for about a year. Going to wait for Ashland’s update then jump back in for all the new content in mistlands and Ashlands. I’ve avoided most spoilers for mistlands. I am also, 100%, turning off raids… They are the one thing about the game that piss me off. I want to build in peace.
I stepped away for like…a year? So recently just got back in, and started to relearn things.
I prefer single-player play and I found the second boss to be a bit difficult for me to solo (even after watching vids), so I haven’t gotten far into things that require me to mine resources in more dangerous areas.
I soloed the elder. I was woefully under prepared. Turned up and struggled, brutes and trolls rocked up. I died so many times that it fully regenerated.
I was in full troll gear. I had shit bow skills. Bow skills will help immensely. Good food and not much else.
Yeah, my bows skills aren’t great and that might be why I struggle with it. I’ll have to try again after practicing with bows. I usually bludgeon boars to death for meat, or surprise a deer and somehow manage to outrun it and stabby stab.
