Ive always noticed some suspicious profiles on private trackers, where they have enormous ratio stats even though they don’t belong to a VIP tier/class. How do they achieve this? Do they use softwares like greedytorrents or ratioghost? If yes how do they go undetectable by the mods? I’ve been looking up some remote forums from (sb-innovations.de) where there’s literally a group discussion on this.

I normally just suspect they have a damn good seed box, if freeleech is available probably have a few massive torrents, and if bonus points are available probably clearing their download if that’s an option on that tracker to inflate the ratio. There probably is some cheating, but I leave that up to the moderators. As long as I have enough of a ratio for myself I don’t really care what other people’s ratios look like.

It’s easier to play legit than it is to cheat. I doubt many cheaters actually get caught, but like why risk it?

Cross-seed and autobrr. Should be enough to maintain ratios on pretty much any site excluding RED.

Just think of each site as a “game”, each one has a set of rules to work inside of, most have “cheezy” strats to min-max ratio with little effort like permaseeding small torrents for bonus points that can be exchanged for ratio.

My go to strat. I already have a bunch of torrents so when I join a new tracker I run cross-seed, then I set up autobrr and grab the internal releases for new shows/movies.

I also have some script to auto-upload to some trackers.

Sadly you’re right about RED, only viable way to get upload on RED is to upload content

Maybe on some trackers you have to resort to these cheats, I don’t know. On many private trackers, you get bonus points just for seeding a torrent - doesn’t matter if anyone downloads from you, the points just accumulate hourly. Then you exchange the points for upload, which counts toward your ratio just like it would if you had physically uploaded that amount.

I have pretty stupid ratios on some trackers without cheating.

I don’t have a seedbox, but I do have a dedicated server in my basement on gigabit fibre with QBT running behind a VPN. My most used tracker has refundable torrents for all TV show seasons, so I seed those for 30 days and get insane free ratio. Other trackers frequently have 25-75% freeleech, and I try and configure Sonarr/Radarr to prioritize those torrents.

Some trackers that i use, i indefinitely seed things and so i have a crazy ratio. My book tracker is one of these. Also quite frequently I’ll use a token to freeleech the file, so it increases my ratio or I’ll buy it as freeleech for the site in the next week. This might be what you’re seeing.

Hi I am one of these people that have this without cheating.

the answer: I bought VIP, racked up ratio like a mad hog, never bought VIP again bc I had 10Tb up and 2Tb down.

Other answer is cross-seed and autobrr, plus upload scripts to top it off.

Having only 4 Mbps up and 24 Mbps down, without Freeleech building a buffer would have been impossible, particularly when competing to seed torrents with people with faster internet speeds. In the case of TorrentLeech, the best option is to invest ~2GB of your buffer into downloading and seeding 100 10MB+ torrents, giving you 4 TL points per hour. In combining the gradual point gain with the rewards of the easily attainable TL achievements, after a month you should be able to accumulate 5000 points, enough to purchase 100GB of additional buffer from the TL marketplace.

Seedbox and freshly released torrents. I joined Torrentleech on June 1st, got a seedbox 2 days later and started downloading freshly released Freeleech torrents. The result ? Ratio of 198.339. Uploaded 8.44TB and “downloaded” 45GB.

Yeah I’d expect they’re using a seedbox, they’re cheap enough and if you seed the freeleech torrents you can get your ratio up pretty easily.

I have about 2tb credit on a popular site. My TV shows are all auto grabbed by my seedbox and normally seeded above 1 to 1 before I even notice.

    100 Meg up and down.

I have a ratio of >100 on one of my trackers. 10GbE Seedbox, lots of freeleach, a little cross-seeding, that’s all it takes.

It probably depends on the private tracker - the more serious ones take this issue more seriously. Trackers that are easy to get into and/or have easy ratio probably do not care very much. Many people just upload a ton of content, seed everything forever, race announces, have seedboxes, or some combination of the above.

I’m going to guess that ratio cheaters that you can notice will be even more obvious to staff.
