She’s also not shy about throwing her ability to pay others to pick up the slack to ease her burden (something most people can’t afford). I found the passage about dropping L off and having coffee with her own mother every morning very telling. She says she doesn’t want the relationship to be transactional. She uses that word a lot when speaking of relationships.
