I don’t think 72 and 84 are good comparisons. By 86, Reagan was well into dementia. Nixon resigned before being impeached or criminally charged.
Trump’s accelerating personality disorder will prevent him from resigning. He’ll just lash out with greater and greater misplaced vengeance.
If his lashing starts to threaten Republicans, they might consider ousting him before he can start doing things they consider to be real damage. We can hope.
