I just wanted a pocketable device, so I decided to pick Mini over 5.
Originally, I wanted to order the white color but ended up choosing the black one because it makes the bezels and pillar boxes blend into the case. It also looks like a small SteamDeck 😅
When I’m not programming, I’m playing GTA III on it and earning RetroAchievements 😃
Nice how are you liking it?
It’s awesome! I wanted something with OLED screen (can’t play on LCD after using SteamDeck), pocketable, comfortable and powerful. It checks all the boxes for me.
I only wish screen were a bit bigger. There is Retroid Pocket 5 with the same CPU and 5.5", but it’s not pocketable.
Sounds awesome. Do you happen to know if portsmaster works on it?
It works!
It’s supported by Rocknix which comes with PortMaster preinstalled.
What are you going to use it for? It has portmaster I believe?
Not OP, but I inquired on the PortMaster Discord and they said it’s not supported just yet. Should only be a matter of time before it is.
Since it’s running Android, it might not even need Portmaster. You can run Windows games via Winlator. The chip in this thing isn’t bad, so it should be able to run most 2D games no problem
My thumbs hurt just looking at those thumbsticks…
Yeah that’s the only reason I don’t plan on getting one of these types of devices. I’ve got giant hands and anything that fits in my pocket like that is going to require me to angle my thumbs nearly against my palms to use the sticks 😭
I found them very comfortable, but I have small hands 😄
Does this have hall sticks?
Yes!
