Nothing has changed. Nothing. If the election was tomorrow, Trump would still win. Don’t be fooled by all of us sane Americans that exist here on Lemmy.

Both parties are on the same aode of the class war. One just pays lip service to climate change and minorities while implementing all the same heinous shit.

You had a choice between the fascist and a kind of crap government and you chose the fascist.

You could have had shit democracy like you always have and instead you went for judge dredd anarchy. Some serious mental gymnastics are required to say that those two things are the same.

That crap government is always going to lead to a fascist at some point. Here we are at that point.

No it doesn’t. It just leads to a few years of ineffective nonsense and then eventually somebody else takes over, they don’t automatically have to be fascists though, why would that be the case?

The UK had a crap ineffective government for 16 years but they’ve been replaced now and they’re not fascist.

It wasn’t about appealing to us, it was about appealing to the common American voter. Democrats failed to do either.

The fuck does that mean? You are seriously trying to excuse neo-nazis in fancy suits.

The United States of America is as much of an enemy of the Human condition as Iraq, you get off on hurting people you get off on making everyone’s lives miserable because it makes you feel better. By definition that must be the majority view

I don’t know if you realize this but most Americans do not live in the lands that american weapons destroy and do not know the first thing about what goes on in those places, other than what their media tells them.

        Oh there he is.

You’re seriously telling me that suburban dwelling family of four is the same as an inner city single mother raising two kids?

The whole point about classes is that different people have different outlooks based entirely on their socioeconomic situation you can’t pretend that doesn’t exist just because it’s not nice.

And Blue Cross Blue Shield reversed their decision to limit coverage of anesthesia immediately after the shooting. We got real world examples! One oligarch dead and several others immediately loosen their oppression of everyone else.

Makes you wonder what else is on the table if a few more “claims get denied”

I like that euphemism. They claim not to be psychopathic greedy leeches, the evidence shows otherwise, we deny them.

It’s only surprising if you don’t understand why they voted for Trump

Edit for the people asking: it’s because the democrats didn’t present solutions for our economy. Regular Americans care whether they can put food on the table. An insurance CEO has a lot to do with that. They know healthcare is broken. They know about income inequality and the record corporate profits. Neither party has presented solutions to fix it, but the right wing is always willing to make up bullshit and look for scapegoats about whatever grievance will energize their base.

People are hurting right now, many of them blame Biden. Kamala promised to do more of the same, and if she promised solutions then they were lighter versions of what Trump promised. This not only legitimized Trump’s positions at the national level but made the Democrats look incompetent for going back on their previous stances.

As many of us know; there are real solutions, which she was not willing to vouch for; and there are ways to combat Trump’s rhetoric, which she was only willing to do in the most extreme cases but not at the fundamental level. This very predictably depressed her base. She was wholly unwilling to even pretend to champion their interests.

That’s it. It’s not quippy, but it’s literally that simple. Stop seeing the worst in people and being uncurious just because your team lost. You aren’t going to beat Republicans by acting like Republicans.

The first and second of those resulted in an emperor and the third, leaders for life that might as well have been called emperor. Not much of an improvement in the end. Still the wealthy in control of everyone else.
