      stretch (verb)

to make your body or your arms and legs straight so that they are as long as possible, in order to exercise the joints (= place where two bones are connected) after you have been in the same place or position for a long time
“ooh big stretch”, they said while looking at the cat who just woke up.

      stretch (idiom)

to make a claim that is not completely true, or to do something that goes further than what is considered to be reasonable
“not sure about what your point is there, I think it’s a stretch”, they said unconvinced.

idiom: a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., rain cats and dogs, see the light ).

I keep hearing stuff about conservatives and liberals around here. Should probably do some research on what that means to be one of those.

Edit: HuggingChat told me that conservatives want things to stay as they are, cuz it’s stable. And liberals want to change stuff, cuz they want to make it better then “just stable”. Makes more sense now.

Important to note that many people don’t believe that the way things are is “stable”. It isn’t just “change it to be better than just stable,” it’s "get most people to be stable instead of just the rich people who are stable already "

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I just wanted to make both sides seem equally logical and reasonable with my “explanation”.

There’s just a lot of militant name-calling and shaming for topics that are made to be political because everyone is so polarized. It’s exhausting. Just forget labels and know what’s right and wrong by your own standards. Be happy you don’t know much about it.
