@CheeseNoodle Hate to disappoint you both, but it’s best known for being extremely bad. Wikipedia includes this note:

The game was widely panned by critics, and has since been considered by many to be one of the worst video games of all time

It has a 32 on Metacritic, and among its reviews are a 1/10 from IGN and 2/10 from Game Informer.

If you’re interested in a long-form video about it, there’s this 21-minute post-mortem including quotes from the developers and stuff. Like a lot of cases, it seems like publisher interference got in the way of a lot of what the team wanted to do.

GT2 was one of the first racing games I ever got into. My old housemates and I would play for hours on end. That’s a great haul.

There is definitely something satisfying about owning retro consoles and games. But it’s hard and expensive to find them sometimes, so I’ve been going the emulator/ROM route lately. I’ve found SO many amazing games. I’m playing the old Monster Hunter PSP games right now. I even installed Mario 64 for nostalgia, and I’m actually shocked how advanced that game is for its time.

Both GT and Spyro are absolutely amazing games and staples of the PSX.

Hopefully you got the booklets too?

Still have my copy of gt2 with the scratch and sniff discs that smell of burnt rubber.

Was such a novelty for 9 year old me.

Spyro was one of the first games I bought on PlayStation. Such great memories.
