PSA for iOS: you can cancel the subscription immediately and still enjoy the entire period of the free trial.

GrapheneOS is awesome, though! Lots of other benefits in using it :) I tried it for a while and the only drawback for me was lack of Google Pay support due to integrity checks.

True. Though cause i care about privacy, I use my bank card or cash. Not google pay. You can however install google play services on GrapheneOS if you’d like.

I do my banking and such without google play. Sure, the app itself complains about not having google play store, but can easily disregard it and continue on as you intend to c:

You know any good privacy providers such as this within the EU and not US?

I don’t know of any European services that allow you to make temporary cards, but my Norwegian bank allows me to create temporary ones with a given spending limit and or balance.

Wish my bank did that… Good for privacy and security :/ I dislike using PayPal as it isn’t particularly privacy friendly and on top of that, 20 character password limit. Why they’d do that, no idea…!

I’ve been using those but setting an alarm on my phone for a few days before the month is up so I remember to cancel. So far it’s been working well. Obviously I don’t do that for shady websites, but it works well for corporate free trial periods.

My company gave me a $25 visa card a while ago and by mistake I only used $24.50. that was actually the best ever because I used that card to sign up for shit like this without worrying. It even helped me get out of AMC stubs or whatever it was called during COVID when they claimed that the theaters were safe but there weren’t even any new movies, they didn’t let me cancel easily so I switched the payment method to that card and when they failed to collect the payment they cancelled the subscription

Unfortunately it expired a couple of months ago but I’ve been thinking on getting another card and do the same

Of course you can do that. But I hate the idea they want to collect as much data about you as possible. If you were to forget to delete it and discord for example gets a breach… Well… Tough luck, now its all out there because “it’s a free trial”. If you have to give up your data, I don’t deem it as free. (Maybe it’s just me)
