Was a kid in high school waiting for the bus my wife and I would pass while she dropped me off at the el station in chicago. We both had people we knew when we were in high school who were like that. I swear the guy might put on a hat, scarf, and gloves but refuse to wear a jacket or lose the shorts.

Some people run hot, it seems. Regular exercise is one factor, I’m fairly sure, but that only shifts the bell curve and doesn’t rule out those who don’t exercise much and still run hot.

Used to work with a guy who always had to have the window open, whatever the weather, and the draughts in the office were a frequent cause of complaint. I would have relocated his desk outside if I’d thought it would stick.

Well high school is a special time to. The one I knew was a rare combo of big, heavy guy with a rapid metabolism. He enviably got a lot of female touching attention because he was like a living heat rock. Literally girls just coming up for hugs in winter.

Speaking as the “never wore winter clothes” kid, when you’re overweight, you can tolerate colder weather due to body fat being a natural insulator

Combine that with a natural tolerance for cold, and sensory issues with heavy clothes, and you get this.

To the point where I had many fights with my parents over it

(I still wear sandals year round because fuck shoes)
