This seems like it makes sense on at least 2 levels, either because he’s saying he at some point had the ‘woke mind virus’ and deleted it, or more likely he’s saying this is what people need to do to ‘free’ themselves of the ‘woke mind virus’.

You don’t have to endorse it to understand it. I don’t really understand Hazel’s confusion.

The confusion is an affectation they’re putting on because the execution of the joke is just so poor.

I especially love that he didn’t say where he was running rm -rf and I like to believe it’s from root, so he lobotomized himself.

He’s saying the enemy is within and must be wiped out completely.

Recursively and forcefully remove virus at Localhost.

Just sent to a friend and I broke it down like this

The commands wouldn’t work on Linux/Unix due to the format. But… They don’t need to if you’re just sending a message.

127.0.0.1 means the local machine. The host.

rm is remove. -r is recursively. -f means use force if necessary.

The commands, when put together, would look something like this:

traceroute wokemindvirus (find the location of and path to the virus)

The virus has been located at localhost (internally)

    rm -rf /127.0.0.1/wokemindvirus

Remove, forcefully and recursively until nothing is left, the woke virus, in the local host - USA.

In other words, the enemy within must be wiped out.

    Tell me I’m crazy.

It’s such a stupid joke that I prefer to interpret it like this:

He discovered that he is the source of the woke mind virus, and then he forcefully lobotomized himself.

    sudo rm -fr - -no-preserve-root

The magic spell that removes the woke mind virus, but only if used on the main twitter server as a high level admin user with full access.

Pro tip; you should probably delete or censor this, it looks like you just essentially doxxed your computer. This traceroute shows your internal IP, the fact you have Verizon as an ISP and which edge server is hosting your connection, your external IP, etc.

Anyone else besides me want a moratorium on musk spam? No one should have to see anything he tweets.

      Please.

If I wanted to read Musk, I’d follow him.

If I wanted to see someone’s tweets all day, I’d be Twitter instead of Lemmy.

I use Lemmy to read Lemmy, not to be reading screenshots of Twitter in Lemmy.

      Thanks.

No see, he’s saying the woke_mind_virus is protecting him! He can no longer accidentally run the rm command and erase his entire mind. It’s 4d cheese or whatever to tell the woke they are actually correct and this right wing posturing is a plot /s

To be fair to Musk (🤢), he would need to significantly dumb down proper Linux commands for his target audience. So it’s possible he wrote some pseudo command lines and sprinkled in the most known tech references that even his audience will sort of recognize.
