What is that one video game cheat code you’ll never forget about?
I’ll start us off with the classic “Explode All Cars” cheat from the classic 2004 game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as that is one that I remember using a lot for no rhyme or reason:
R2, L2, R1, L1, L2, R2, SQUARE, TRIANGLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE, L2, L1
Let’s see if anyone knows these:
- Up down left right a+start
- up c down c left c right c a+start
- up up down down up up up up up a+start
- covertops
- iddt
I remember the cheat but not the exact game lol. Definitely Sega Mega Drive though.
ABRACADABRA (R for d-pad right, D for d-pad down).
Going by a Google search it could’ve been Vectorman or Ecco 2. Or both because I played both a lot back then.
Ratchet and clank 3, the cheat code is told to you in a cutscene:
“Aren’t you going to unlock his secret costumes? Here, I’ll put in a cheat code. Up up down down left right circle square square… Haha! Look! He’s in a tutu!”
HESOYAM
GTA:SA extra health and money.
ROSEBUD
ROBINWOOD (I think) in AoE II
DNNOCLIP
Porkcharsui in the original pc version of Grand Theft Auto. If you named your character this, you had an overlay with coordinates so you could find your way easier, you’d get all the guns and the possibility to toggle a kind of sped up mode.
Oh and howdoiturnthison in Age of Empires 2 to get an AC Cobra with machine guns
“up up down down left right left right B A B Start”
Contra - NES
Actually it works in a whole bunch of Konami games, and of course some modern games have thrown it in as an homage.
