I think that’s the point, right? Outrage generates interaction, a Democrat ‘admitting’ that they (Republicans) are right about immigration is the perfect hook.
People often “talk in airquotes” when they’re really “being sarcastic”. :)
More commonly, headlines will write “in air quotes” when they are directly quoting what the subject said…
