Hey! See title. I have an old phone I’m not using, and it would be cool if I could use it as my own server. How do I go about this?

Thanks!

You’d want to host on a device that’s hardwired into the network for optimal stability. I guess it could be technically possible to do if you hate yourself. I’d probably recommend using an old desktop computer if you have any laying around. If not, no os computers can be found for less than $50, you would just need a hard drive. My favorite source for old computers is the MSU Surplus Store.

I think it’s possible if you flash a Linux distro on your phone. PostmarketOS? Debian? Would be a fun project tho. Let us know how it goes!

That might be possible, but it’s quite an overkill. I’d probably go with Termux android app, to avoid the whole “how to flash and boot a different distro on it”.
