A new Geekbench listing is showing the Pixel 8a (codenamed Akita) to have:
- a CPU with 1 prime core at 2.91Ghz, 4 performance cores at 2.37Ghz and 4 efficiency cores at 1.7Ghz;
- a Mali G715 GPU;
- 8GB of RAM;
- Android 14.
It scored 1,218 and 3,175 in respectively single-core and multi-core tests.
Those figures seem to be 10% to 20% better than those of the Pixel 7a.
Does that mean we’ll have had 3 x a model phones in just over a year?
If they release the 8a, 8 and 8pro at the same time, it will be a compelling trio, they will trade blows with the offerings from Apple and Smung
Even though a benchmark leaked, I don’t think we’ll see an 8a this year, Google needs to sell those 7a’s first.
How big is it?
The Pixel 8’s screen is likely going to be 6.17’, so we can assume that the Pixel 8a will be even smaller.
I’ve got a 6a which I consider to be too tall, and I’m assuming the 8a is going to be bigger, but I would sure love to learn otherwise.
