Seen a few links here and there for private C-PTSD discord/signal/matrix/etc groups, but most of the links I’ve found are dead. Seems to be a “you gotta know a guy that knows a guy” sort of schtick, so anybody here know anything? There’s nothing here for heavier stuff on lemmy, and all the public stuff everywhere else sucks, so anything is appreciated, thanks.

Well, this is just how it is. We may never see the level of activity on here that you want because Lemmy doesn’t exactly have advertising. People like me on here are idealists and proactive about trying to generate content and not get ourselves down for a lack of responses (too much, anyway). There is not really a point to being on Lemmy if a currently hyperactive community is what you want, but the communities that I’m a part of are active enough to my satisfaction (and they’re not merely politics and tech).

I recently made a post in a community of <150 members that didn’t have anything in literal months, yet it amassed dozens of comments in days. You just have to put yourself out there with your questions. If you want to take a DAE (Does Anybody Else…) poll, or try to get insight, just post it. Hopefully people will come. If I really want responses, then I may multi-post it elsewhere.

That message board seemed very active, yeah; it had 3 new posts by unique authors on the day when I linked it, IIRC. So I guess you could abandon this place or not and keep trying to help it grow with us, even if just by duplicating what you put elsewhere; there’s hardly any harm done by crossposting. I only recently found this community and was never very active in /r/CPTSD, but I occasionally lurk and will talk if I think I have something meaningful to say.

Activity is a paradox; the more people observe existing activity, the more likely they’ll participate. This is true even IRL with cities vs. towns, etc.
