I have a family member who has gone down some internet rabbit holes and is now sharing endless links to videos on Northern Perspective. He’s describing it as “revealing the truth about corruption in Canada that they don’t want you to know about” but the YouTube channel looks like truthy disinformation? What’s going on with Northern Perspective? Who’s behind it? And how do I help my family member?
I found their website (not going to link it here), and it looks like a bog-standard right-wing misinfo outlet to me.
same - wasn’t going to link to it. it looks like disinformation through and through. I’m trying/hoping to find out where they get their “news” because it’s become the driving narrative for a family member and “buddy, that just looks suss as hell” doesn’t quite cut it.
I truly wish I had some advice for you, but I honestly have no idea what to say to someone who thinks a “news” source like that is worth a grain of salt.
