    It’s up cycled trash. So it help reduce the use of virgin plastic. But it’s only slightly better than plastic shoes

      Yeah, it’s a weird concept that I’m not sure how I feel about it…

      On the one hand, I’m paying towards something which makes cleaning the ocean more cost effective

      On the other hand, when I’m done with the shoes… do I… burn them?

        What do you do with your shoes in general when you’re done with them? I don’t understand how that process would be any different with these shoes. The point is only that they are made from plastic found at the beaches of Portugal and organic material (cotton). When you buy them, you use them just like any other shoes.

        No, you hand them in for recycling.

        We have a lot of existing plastic. Until we can destroy it without harming the climate, the best we can do is re-use it and not make more. What’s the alternative, have it sit in a dump somewhere poisoning the earth and seeping into underground water?
