Bush rats have rather short tails, you can see in these pics how short it is compared to the body of the bush rat native Bush Rats Different species too, but same genus: Rattus fuscipes. Native to Australia. The black rat, Rattus rattus is, obviously, introduced/a pest species. Same with the Norway rat Rattus norvegicus
