I had someone narc to my boss today about a completely non-impact error. (Meaning it doesn’t affect our user base whatsoever.)
It was a procedural error, meaning I loaded a file into the page’s content library instead of linking to a DMS.
Very simple. I fixed it in two seconds, and again, IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE USER BASE.
DO NOT BE THIS PERSON.
EVERYONE HATES PEOPLE WHO DO THIS.
Shit like that still needs to be fixed or else it turns into a maintenance cost.
Still, the polite thing to do is file a bug and specify a low priority.
Or just send me an instant message, like a fucking grownup.
That’s not the argument I’m making.
It’s a dick move to take something this small to someone’s boss. That’s it.
