The only real major failing Linux has is its atrocious Legacy support, which is ironic considering the fact that it’s the OS of choice for older “Obsolete” computers that can’t run Modern versions of Windows. Almost all the problems I have on linux come from this problem i.e. Difficulty Formatting Floppy Disks in Linux (claims you can’t fomat smaller volumes as FAT16 or FAT12, but they are liars), Difficulty running older software due to dependency version targeting (particularly annoying for closed source ones that can’t just be easily recompiled). It’s unfortunate because legacy support and backwards compatibility is important and I feel like it should be given more value in the Linux community, especially since we keep bragging about linux being able to run on old devices, so lets actually embrace that and let people utilize their older hardware and software.
