And here I thought it was a middle-aged thing! Looking back though, turns out I’ve had a bizarre way of thinking about birds my whole life.

As an adult, always said I didn’t give a shit about birds, didn’t want one, fuck birds. About the only sort of animal I’ve never kept or raised. Then I took a look at some of my most prized childhood possessions. Antique, glass bird figures, collection of owl figurines, etc.

Now I’ve got 3 different kinds of feeders, a total of 7. Birds all over the place!

Maybe a weird thing, but I can’t identify any but the most obvious avians. Hummingbord, cardinal, crow, pigeon, I got that. Clueless about everything else. don’t care, just happy to have 'em around.

I’m actually terrible at identifying them as well. My birdfeeder has a cam and for a small monthly fee, it can AI identify the birds. But I stopped paying the fee, so now I’m clueless to most birds. lol

But I love the sound of birds in the trees, and it’s fun to see them on cam.
