Hike?! No, those corporate taxes need to go on a fucking death march until they’re seeing new lands in record time. I want these multi trillion dollar companies asking their accountants in panicked voices what a three digit tax percentage even means.

Not an American, but if you’re ambitious then why ask for redistricting instead of an actual electoral reform? Gerrymandering is only possible because “first past the post” voting is rotten to its core.

    • Expand SCOTUS significantly.
    • Aggressively prosecute any and every government employee who violated anyones civil rights during this administration.
    • Impeach Roberts and Thomas.
    • Repeal the Big Ugly Bill
    • Repeal Citizens United
    • Ban gerrymandering with severe personal criminal penalties for violators, remedies for repeat violations (redrawn by a federal commission) and require immediate redrawing of all noncompliant district maps.
    • Enshrine important Constitutional protections using Congressional legislation, preventing courts from further corrupting Constitution through bad faith re-interpretation.
    • Anti-corruption Laws. Require public servants to completely divest themselves of stock private interests while dramatically improving base pay. Ban trading and investments by anyone serving, whether elected or appointed.
    • 95% income tax rate for rental income from low-density residential property after $250k

I could probably keep going. But those are big ones currently missing.

    Counterproposal:

    • Arrest Every Billionaire
    • Universal citizenship
    • Nationalize healthcare and pharma corporations
    • Election reforms
    • Abolish 4 branches of the military (they can fight it out to see who stays)
    • Mandatory unions

I am going to make Project 2029 look like a conservative compromise

I can appreciate the sentiment here, but we need to ground this a bit.

For example: Federal redistricting -> reapportionment. We’re a completely different country than when “permanent apportionment” was established nearly 100 years ago. The numbers need to be reasonably weighted for population because “equal representation” is enshrined in our collective conscience.

I disagree. We should have a political group agitating for something twice as radical to make this look tame by comparison

Totally fair. I think instead of disagreeing, a “yes and” approach is necessary. My point here is that OP doesn’t really seem to understand the existing mechanics behind especially redistricting, unless this is state specific.

Federal redistricting is controlled by each state independently, and federal election law regulating it will be thrown out by courts everywhere.

Apportionment (calculation of the number of seats allotted to each state) was set in stone by Congress almost 100 years ago, and now means Wyoming has a helluva lot more say per person than CA.

Unless the radical approach is to redraw state boundaries (or e.g. admit Puerto Rico as a state), there isn’t a lot that’s both functionally possible and more radical than changing the make up of Congress to make voting power per citizen more equal.

    That font is atrocious.

Also, what’s “3 month maternity” suppose to mean? You probably don’t want people to stop being mothers after three months? “3 months paid maternity leave”

Why not just dissolve your Union and each state can apply to become Canadian provinces? Except for the ones that originally belonged to Mexico, it would be rude if we didn’t offer them right of first refusal

I’d rather go independent or confederate like the EU. Just don’t think countries function well past 100 million people

Abolition of lobbying is a non-starter.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You and I can hardly approach out congressman about a given issue, not effectively anyway. We band together, pool our money and hire the professionals on K Street instead. They have the connections and know how it works behind the scenes. Obvious problem being the corporations who outspend us for that representation.

Also obvious, or should be, not all lobbying efforts are evil.

      100% agree with you unfortunately.

Better move is to get rid of Citizens United. Fairly certain it’ll have a similar effect that he’s looking for.

Also in practice corporate can donate $20M before sending the lobbyist and $30M after depending on their mood.

Simply return things to the way they were. Where only US citizens can contribute to candidates running for office. No corporations and no foreign nationals.

There are already laws that make sure employees are given time off to vote. At least there are in my state, in many other states. A national law would be welcome, and I think more effective than an election holiday.
