That setting is the rough timeframe that precedes the first season of “Picard,” with the Romulan supernova, the attack on Mars, and various other events of that nature being relatively recent history.

Sounds like the Trekkiest Disco season synopsis since 2019. Glad to hear Tilly hasn’t entirely retired to teaching duty!

Aside from stamets, this show has the least likeable principal cast of a star trek show I’ve seen. Burnham is so blegh. And Tilly is annoying as hell imo.

I think Tilly was a very well written character, especially in the beginning. Not much experience, friendly but awkward. Very human unlike the big heroic captains. But I agree, Burnham is the most unlikeable main character in Star Trek. I also find Georgeou and Booker annoying and Saru was cool in the beginning (especially when there was still a wow factor for the visual work) but he also wasn’t faring too well lately. Most of the rest of the cast is okay at least and Jason Isaacs and Anson Mount were highlights in seasons 1 and 2 respectively.

What bothered me most about Tilly is how fast her rise from nobody to officer went. Way faster than her personality. She could make a great officer in ten years, not two.

That’s funny. I feel the same way, except that it’s Tilly that I care about and no one else.

Okay, but what do you like about it?

Why do so many people go online and think it’s suddenly normal human behavior to walk into a room griping about something?

I mean it’s a bad show overall. And a terrible star trek show. I tried to like it but I really don’t. I like a couple of characters in it, but nothing else beyond that. I love Strange New worlds though, that one shows they were listening to the complaints.

I stopped after season 2. It was the only Star Trek show ever I disliked. Is it worth it to revisit or has it been more of the same?
