Oh wauw, what a special dog. He just doesn’t like food, how weird. I can imagine that feeding time with him is more dramatic than trying to make a toddler eat broccoli or some other vegetables 😅
So if you didn’t make him eat he would starve himself to death? Poor captain killian. He gets sick from food? Or why does he need the nausea medication? Or is it just in case since no doctor can figure out why he doesn’t like food. I’ve got So many questions!
Poor captain killian, you can see his aversion for food in the pictures.
At 10 weeks we took him to the vet for his first checkup and told them that he didn’t want to eat. Vet suggested trying a couple different kibbles and that he would eventually eat due to hormoneal override of taste preferences. A week later we called back sand told them that he hadnt eaten in a week. An emergency visit later, the trying to figure out began.
All the different types of medication was to try to figure out why he didn’t want to eat. He has had numerous x-rays, ultra sounds, specialized blood work, allergy testing, parasite testing, etc. We have bl not been able to figure out why he doesn’t want to eat, but we have figured out that changing his meals constantly has better results than offering the same food. I will say it is quite challenging to have to learn about dog nutritional needs to keep a balanced diet, deal with food allergies, vary his meals, and convense him to eat at the same time. But he is the best boy ever and is worth it.
Infact he has a whole chest freezer just dedicated to different meat \ veggie \ grain \ organs. In meat alone there is beef, chicken, pork, lamb, several types of fish, alligator, rabbit, duck, dear. His food is higher end than mine lol.

That analogy is pretty good 👍.

I applaud your stamina and tenacity! Good on you to try and take the best of care for this boy!
On a different note: have you tried Brussel sprouts? Nobody else likes them so maybe captain killian will 😅
Lol, we have.

Also, these pictures show what would normal be “high value” food, but are not representative of what he normally eats. An example of that would be:
Diced chicken, spinach, Chex wheat cereal, blueberry, organ meat, crushed egg shells (calcium) cooked into a stir fry.
