I mean, Data did have a daughter.

It did not go as well as he would have liked.

That was not Yar’s fault though. I think she’d been killed by Big Oil several seasons earlier, but it’s been a while.

I like how in Picard the Android home world gets effectively abandoned by the plot of session 2 and 3.

That must be the worst thing about Picard. Season 1 is all about the synths and their planet.

Season 2 has that as a footnote with the synth girl being a sort of ambassador now, but drops the matter and her character too. Creates a new thing in the process, “good” borg who supposedly guard an anomaly(?) as friends to the federation in a massive new borg ship.

Season 3 makes no further mention of that but instead has normal borg as adversaries, and phased out virtually every new character for a nostalgia theme park ride (which was admittedly pretty fun, albeit a complete creative sellout).

I mean, the new additions and topics they tried in the first two seasons weren’t the best Trek, but at least they tried to shake up the format a bit.

I can absolutely see this being the cold open for an actual episode if Tasha had stuck around for a bit longer. Especially with how weird season 1-2 gets sometimes…

So he didn’t notice she was pregnant or see the kid until he was this old? Or did he just suddenly appear? Wouldn’t even remotely be the strangest thing to happen in the show.
