The White House is exploring the possibility of airdropping aid from U.S. military planes into Gaza as deliveries by land become increasingly difficult, four U.S. officials told Axios.
There’s 1.2 million people sheltering in Rafah. They’d need to drop 4000 pallets of MREs every day to feed them. And re-feeding syndrome may be a problem.
The proposed airlift absolutely does nothing to address shortages of potable water. Or the medical supplies needed to treat victims of Israel’s genocidal assault, the public health catastrophe from the lack of sanitation, or even just everyday medical needs like diabetes or pregnancies.
Still better than starving to death! God damn!
Water and medicine can also be airdropped. It’s a tall order, but we’ve done it before. The biggest logistic hurdle would be getting enough planes. It would probably have to be a NATO or UN operation, so multiple air forces could contribute aircraft and crews without pulling too many assets from other operating areas.
