I fully agree that she should have absolutely refused to work under those conditions.
But in an environment where some producers might not understand the importance of leaving her to do her job undisturbed and will have the mentality of constantly pressuring people like her to compromise safety under the threat of firing then and “finding someone who will”, I believe that the blame is to be shared. Otherwise, these accidents will happen again.
From what little I have heard the production kept distracting her with additional roles and responsibilities when they shouldn’t have, essentially preventing her from doing her job properly. I wouldn’t throw all the blame on a single person if there was an organizational problem that contributed to the accident. Otherwise the armourer’s job isn’t to ensure safety anymore but just to be a scapegoat every time things go wrong.

Before we cut our food in perfectly sized bites with utensils our ancestors used to do it by biting into large pieces of food with their front teeth. That would wear them down evenly to form a nice flat bite.

That wouldn’t be sustainable. You would whither away, and get sick and that’s not even considering other basic expenses for things like clothing and personal hygiene, let alone healthcare. Sooner or later that employee will have to drop out. Anyone accepting to work like this must be desperate enough that anything past short term future isn’t even considered. And yet these people exist.
And hence the point I was trying to make that everyone seems to be missing here given the amount of downvotes. The mind-blowing fact that there are still people willing to work these jobs despite reason shows how badly we can’t rely on self regulation. This level of exploitation is downright slavery.
But you still inevitably end up starving on the streets with a salary like that. Why bother wasting time at a shitty job for it?
Why are there still people even accepting to work for such a extremely underpaid job? All of these job positions should be vacant. Surely even a desperate person would see that this isn’t even worth it?
Because them saying they’re “worth” that is just mental gymnastics to make themselves feel better about abusing the position of power to leech as much money from as many people as possible for themselves.
