  • Did you bother to contact their customer support asking if they plan to add this feature?

In my biased opinion, I would imagine Gmail would want to use you and your emails for every ounce of data they can squeeze out of it. However proton is a paid service who doesn’t sell your data, with much less Human Resources than google, therefore less language support. They add things as fast as they can get around to them. If you inquire they might be more apt to add the support if they have someone on staff that can do it.

Just being born in some geographical location doesn’t make you a decendant of their people. You are a decendant of where your ancestors are from. If your family doesn’t celebrate their heritage then pick the one that best describes where they come from. Maybe sit down and ask your parents or grand parents some questions about your ancestry so you can come to an identity based on facts.

  • The Free Press. (They are a monthly subscription) Journalists who left the New York Times. I find most of their articles to be refreshing and insightful. They seem to be truly middle-left for American politics. They don’t try and feed on outrage to gain clicks. You’ll find less low hanging fruit like Trump rage-bait, and provide more thoughtful, unbiased reporting like NPR used to back in the day. I learned about them from an article where a right-leaning NPR editor did an interview with them about lack of balance at NPR and was subsequently fired for his views. As someone who’s listened to NPR for decades It really hit home as I listened to it happen over the years in real time. I value balance over the unchecked shift to one side or the other. I really enjoy the Friday editorial newsletter, TGIF. The humor is a good way to wrap up the week.

If I have one complaint it’s that the stories skew Israel/Jewish heavy, but given that the founder is Jewish. I understand why and can forgive it. They have plenty of good talent working other stories so there is always a good read.

If you’re in the US and plan to get a LoRa device for use with Meshtastic then get the 915 band for your first device. That is what’s intended for us unlicensed users, and that’s where you have a better shot joining a mesh.

As far as the T-Deck Plus. I received mine about 3 weeks ago as my first dip into Meshtastic. The stock Meshtastic firmware interface is… underutilizing the hardware interface. There is an unofficial firmware version with much more capability, but it’s very, very buggy. You’re basically going to be an early adopter. (If they’re still taking two months to ship, who knows by then) Since I don’t desire to tinker, or build my own firmware from the source examples from Lilygo, I am basically waiting for Meshtastic or another open source group to release a better experience for the T-Deck Plus.

For now I’m using my second device. A RAK Wizblock with no display and my cell phone. I bought an Atlavox M1 which is a very solid prebuilt. It’s basically the RAK LoRa starter kit, a battery, and a well designed, 3d printed PETG case. I’m very happy with that purchase.
