Well I’ve raised it in other threads that people who expect violent conflict should prepare by familiarizing themselves with firearms, buying them, and training survival skills. But people are afraid. The idea was argued into the ground.

People don’t want to believe, or those that do, don’t think they cant do anything. I’d like to believe that there’s enough checks and balances to deal with any attempts of demolishing democracy. I have a hard time believing that generals, or even troops in general would turn their guns inward. They signed up to defend democracy and freedom on behalf of their countrymen. Not destroy it and kill them.

But at the same time, I just don’t know. Most are too lazy and complacent to try and organize. When I’ve tried people shrug. The people think they want what Trump is selling.

Either way, I’d say prepare yourself. That way, if things do organize, you’re ready. I’ve been ready just for fun, not for anti-fascism purposes. I like hunting and living off the land when I can. Turns out they’re useful skills in situations that may unfold. We shall see.

This is a take I actually agree with you on. Complacency is this country’s biggest flaw and why shit has cranked so hard to the right. But people need leaders with plans and social skills. In the same breath of saying inaction is deadly, so is unorganized action. That’s how movements die. Remember occupy Wall Street? Favorite example.

It’s probably prudent for me to mention a few things, one I don’t personally think that’s where this is going, at least not yet. Two I’m aware of the sheer size and number of Americans would need to whole heartedly participate. I’d never expect that many to even get off the couch. I would not start or attempt to lead or even advocate for this level of action so prematurely. Do I believe it could happen or work with the current state of our country? No. Do I think we’ll get there? No. Do I want it to? Still no. My point was if the left want it they should put their money where their mouth is and that it’s not impossible for a well organized civilian army to “win” to some effect. Especially since something like that is bound to cause some splintering in the military.

American military relies on three things. American people who want to fight, logistic networks and symmetrical warfare. Take away one of the legs like in the middle east and the us military becomes useless.
