Here in Brazil (at least in my state) we usually say “Tudo bem?” which translates to “Is everything fine?” (in a casual way, not an emotional way) so it’s more of a yes-or-no question. If I’m doing well or neutral, I’ll just say “Tudo certo.” (All is well.), if I’m not, then I just say “Mais ou menos.” (More or less.) or “Não, e você?” (No, what about you?).
Honestly just saying I’m fine to someone I don’t know doesn’t bother me at all, although if it’s someone I know better I would rather be honest with them.
Maybe the rising sea levels will put out the fires… :(
Leaks more metadata? What does that mean?
Same (Brazil), Whatsapp is pretty much a requirement and I hate that I’m forced to give Meta my information by using their shitty app.
im gonna die one day and if there’s an afterlife, i’ll deal with it then. if there isn’t an afterlife, then i won’t deal with it because i’ll be dead.
1.5 days
it sounds like yunicorn, so it’s a unicorn, not an unicorn.
I don’t guitar you can clavichord any random word with an instrument.
People might not want to eat chicken eggs since they might look like smaller human eggs and that would be weird.

i’m brazilian, my brother moved to Portugal some years ago and his quality of life improved dramatically. He used to live near a bank that was robbed pretty frequently and that was pretty frightening
Even though he moved to another country, my bro isn’t rich (sure seems that way though, compared to living standards here lol). It’s just that there you can be not rich and still have quality of life, safety and be able to actually afford things.
I’m currently living in Brazil and rly what worries me most is that one day I will want/need to live alone but rent can be very expensive (i’ll probably never own a home or even my own apartment, this is unacceptable and it’s the reality we live in), and the minimum wage in Brazil (and probably lots of other countries) is absolutely dogshit.
Can’t you remove those?

this literally happened to me and i cant stop laughing at the fact that someone else experienced this moment.
how about this:
i’m being sarcastic
I meant free speech, not the 1st amendment (I’m not even from the US). The concept of freedom of speech is relevant to this situation.
I believe that a company threatening to fire its employees based on an opinion they had in private or in a personal social media account is wrong. I imagine this isn’t necessarily against the law, but should still be acknowledged as a form of censorship.
Of course, there are certain opinions that are absurd or even illegal(?). if a company relies on public image of its employees (not sure if i phrased this correctly) then there are situations where it’s reasonable to fire the employee for an opinion, but since it’s regarding opinions, this would be very difficult or impossible to define legally while still being fair.
I’m not exactly sure what my point is anymore so I’m just gonna stop arguing, but I’ll maybe read some other threads for some insight on the situation
From what I searched, the meteorologist criticized Elon Musk on her private social media, not while working.
If you’re flipping burgers, and later you get home and post online on a personal account about your favorite category of adult film, it’s none of your employer’s business.
Brazil. Fluent in Portuguese and English, though I understand a tiny little bit of Dutch. I can understand Spanish sometimes because of similarities between it and Portuguese.
