3·8 days agoI’m afraid I don’t have a reliable source of information other than what I can see on the street. Anecdotally it is hard to find pescatarian or vegetarian dishes in many restaurants. If nearly 20% of the population was vegetarian, this wouldn’t be the case.
That Wikipedia page is odd: in the table of shows Mexico as 19%, and in the Mexican section (below the table) it has 8%, and groups Mexico with Central America.
As a Mexican, even 8% feels high! It is damn hard to find meat free food in most restaurants.
ARM main business model is the sell of IP. They fully design their CPUs along with a host of surrounding technologies, like the interconnect. In order to prove their design work and are fit for purpose they have to send to TSMC and other fabs. Small customers buy their IP as is and then integrate it onto their designs. Their most expensive license is the Architectural licence. This means they allow the buyer to completely redesign their Chios, while maintaining compatibility with the Software. Large companies like Apple, Nvidia, Amazon, Samsung and others buy this licence and produce chips like the Exynos, or graviton.
ARM is a UK company that sells more CPUs than Intel and AMD combined. They dominate the mobile market. Literally all phone chips use ARM technology. Their GPUs are not bad for tablets and phones.
They been trying to get their CPUs onto the desktop and server markets for years, and they are beginning to get some success stories on both.
And the US gets to sell their weapons to allies. This acts as a subsidy on the development of new weapons systems, and prevents possible competitors from developing theirs. It is easier to win a war when your opponent cant make any weapons, or cant scale their weapon making fast enough.
It also provides an ever present treat to Europe: All those US bases scattered over the European continent are a reminder that Europe is free to choose their own political path, as long as they don’t deviate much from what Washington approves.
