@bpt11@sh.itjust.works KDE is more customizable and supports more things where as Gnome tries to keep things simple and cohesive in its theme. Ex: Gnome currently has some issues with supporting things like VR but that should be fixed soon. Both work well and have the option of including a suite of useful “default” apps (with KDE pushing the bounds of default). Comes down to what you like. FWIW I use KDE.

I like #anime, #cityplanning, 🎮, #astrophysics, and most things #tech. I also play 🎸, sing, and am looking for people to jam with or just to find new friends. Some personal projects: learning #Japanese, reading books, and research binges on my current obsession.

My current progress:
Gmail and calendar ➡️ @Tutanota@mastodon.social some issues with UI and performance, but overall happy.
Browser ➡️ Zen (Firefox fork)
Storage ➡️ NAS with mesh VPN
Photos/videos: Jellyfin but also just manual folders. Phone sync with Easy Sync over WebDav. Quite hacky, but it works.
YouTube: SOL :bocchi_wiggle:
Chat: pretty much everything with no consensus. :dumpsterkun: Attempting to use matrix/signal/xmpp more.
Still room for improvement with text/voice/video chat being the big current struggle.
