Forgive my ignorance, but what is the “biological advantage” argument? Is it like… if you were assigned male at birth, but transition later in life, some people will try to argue that the trans person has a biological advantage?
It comes up for physical sports, I think swimming has had a few notable examples for instance. Most people arguing it’s an issue aren’t directly affected and discussions around it are rarely if ever civil from either side - I think there’s a legitimate discussion that could be had about where might be reasonable to draw a line between “has a biological advantage” versus not but the politicization of the issue by the right has made that conversation nigh impossible.

The “biological advantage” is imagined bull manure. The short list of factors that assigned birth gender DOES impact omits boardgame skills.
Edit: gender
Not to mention, it impacts far fewer sports than many think, especially in high-level competition.
I’ve never heard the term itself, but is it referring to having more muscle mass due to higher levels of testosterone in men?
I think so. It also includes height, skeletal build, and supposedly bone density
But does it actually affect board game skills?
No.
Can confirm 😞
Being trans really does give an unfair advantage in chess somehow… and so does wearing jeans.
I’m sure a trans woman wearing jeans would be so powerful at chess FiDE would have to invent a title above grandmaster.
Yap thats it.
