I didn’t read many of them, but my brother had like forty of them. I remember reading one where a kid gets impregnated by aliens and lays and egg at the end of one, lol.

I was never particularly into Goosebumps; Animorphs and the Xanth books were my go-to reading choice in that age range. That said, I imagine I would have quite enjoyed that weird alien impregnation story. :)

For me one led to the other. I read a lot of Goosebump books, and discovered the Xanth series.

I think the one where the main character lays an egg is Egg Monsters from Mars

This one’s my absolute favourite. I must have read it a thousand times. You’re on a field trip and turn into this creature when you wander off and eat some weird fruit.

I had read a little bit of that series but never really got into it. The only thing I remember about it is the intro song from the TV adaptation.

I was in college when they started coming out. I have never read any of them.

More of a Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark kind of kid

Goosebumps is so iconic… The covers are still works of art IMO. Loved the werewolf one, and the sequel to Say Cheese and Die

Haha, that would’ve been a more interesting name than the one they went with

I wasn’t much a reader but I enjoyed the shows. I forget if it was this or Are You Afraid of the Dark, but I recall being scared to open the cabinet beneath the sink for a solid few months due to an episode involving a kitchen sponge.

I totally remember that one! It was absolutely Goosebumps. Solid shout-out to Are You Afraid of the Dark, though. Between the two shows, I think Are You Afraid of the Dark was the better one…

Those books were off-limits for me growing up, so I only experienced them through what others had to say about them and the one or two times I watched an episode of the TV show when visiting friends

I didn’t read a ton of them, I was already reading Stephen King etc when they were coming out but I loved the show! My little sister had a lot of them and she even had the point and click video game for the PC.

I never read the Fear Street books but the netflix show was pretty good!

I feel like I remember the TV show more than I remember the books. My sister had a ton of them, though. I do remember having a couple of those “choose your own adventure” ones that I got from the school book fair which were pretty neat. IIRC, there’s one where the kids are turned into dogs or maybe its the other way around. That entire series was a trip. I don’t know what brand of spray paint Stine was huffing in the '90’s but he sure was hitting it hard.
