I’ll start!

My son is 14 months. He learned to walk on his own 2 weeks ago and now I just chase him non stop. It doesn’t help that it’s 90+f outside. 💦

    We have:

    • F 22yr - working part time while in college with a focus on missions
    • F 21yr - married with 2yr boy currently living out of state and moving back near us next month
    • M 18yr - just graduated high school, working part time, considering a trade for career
    • M 15yr - taking driver’s ed and is our hunter / outdoorsman, also considering a trade
    • F 12yr - struggles with school / confidence but making great progress, super sweet kid
    • M 11yr - always happy / super chill, gets along great with his older siblings
    • F 7yr - most talkative, loves everyone, struggling with dyslexia in school
    • M 7yr - all energy all the time, loves to run and tinker, excels in STEM subjects

Oldest 2 are biological with the others adopted from foster care; all have been a tremendous blessing.

How old were your biological kids when you adopted, and how old were your adopted kids when you adopted? I’m interested in doing the same but I worry they won’t play nicely with each other

Our biological kids were about 12/13 when we started fostering. Our first long term placement that we adopted finalized a few years later and was 10 when they were first placed. They got along really well and still do.

Our next two adoptions were 2 when place so that was a big change but at that age the older kids were able to help babysit etc. and while the older kids still consider them siblings the relationship is certainly different from the big age gap.

The final three adoptions were 10/12/14 at the time and a sibling group. They blended in rather well fitting right between the older and younger kids. Now they all play together quite well and will break off into different groups depending on what activity they’re doing.

Feel free to ask any follow ups.

Two month old baby boy, our first. Slightly out of the complete panic stage except probably not. Help! Nevermind, we’re fine.

My daughter is 2.5 years old and we are in the process of potty training. May god have mercy on our souls.

All seriousness though, she’s awesome and one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.
