What’s crazy is that not one person got reprimanded for this disaster.

I don’t think we even have ethernet cabling in our DCs anymore, it’s all fiber now. Only for in house networking, workstations, printers etc.

Looks like an overworked it department. Can’t make things maintainable if you can barely have them not collapse

This is quite tidy for the mess it is.

Executive management cares not for the plight of the pawns. Layoffs will continue until morale improves the buyout cashout.

Jokes in you thinking these would be many cables. It’s probably one long fibre optic cable used to store bits in-flight.

Those big beefy switches had been EoL for several years before they got decommed. The blue spaghetti is the result of migrating off of them. This room was bad before, but after… yeah, this is what happens when companies decide to have a dozen locations but fire all of the DC staff in most of them.

I always dream I’m gonna make one of those neatly arranged cable porn displays. I get the spool of cat6, my crimpers, zip ties, etc, then about 20 minutes in I run into the one proprietary cable that’s way too long. I try to tuck away the excess and it never works well. Then all the power cables. Then I give up and basically get this

Right? I’m convinced every time I see some ultra fancy network cabinet that they either have some fancy method of making iec 13 cables, a budget to buy a ton of cables in custom lengths (and the time to wait for them to ship), or (imo most likely) they’re hiding an absolute mess behind the nice part
