I’m starting to combine releases into one announcement post - and new features and bugfixes may not be officially announced here - so be sure to follow the Github releases to see what’s new!

With that, here’s some of the latest from 1.10.0 and 1.11.0!

Custom app icon

As some other have already posted, Voyager (native app only) now provides a selection of custom app icons to choose from! This list will slowly expand in the future so be sure to check back regularly. :)

Text Recovery

You can now have peace of mind in case the app unexpectedly quits. As you type, your text is saved and can be recovered upon relaunching the app. Try it out!

Jump to next root comment

You can now enable a button to easily jump to the next root comment — or long press to go back. Even better, you can customize its position!

Open links in default browser

Native app only

Head over to Settings if you’d like external links to open in your default browser instead of in-app!

A bunch of tweaks and fixes

Check out below for more! And thanks to @RocketRide9 for the theme color tweaks!

Like the apps?

I would appreciate if you left a review on the app stores! This helps Voyager gain visibility and reputation. Thank you very much! 💙

    Hey man.

I must say, I am really impressed with voyager. I’ve been using this since PWA and wefwef and it has come a long way.

Good job! And keep it up!

I updated ten minutes ago and just now was saved by the comment text recovery feature. Thanks so much for that — I never knew I wanted it!

Someone wrote in a review they this great app “feels like home” because it reminds one of Apollo for Reddit so much.

I tried a couple of the new Lemmy apps and Voyager is my favorite so far. One thing, I would appreciate for one of the next releases would be some kind of “privacy redirect” built in to redirect e.g. YouTube links to piped.video and others as well.

Thanks and keep up the good work! I’ll go ahead and leave a review soon.

Still using it as a self-hosted PWA over here. I’ve even made a script to fetch a version from git, cross compile it for my Pi and ship it over. Keep up the good work! :)

Hey, thank you so much for making this amazing app. I can say for sure it’s the only one I can use on my phone and on my desktop.

The only thing missing for me is link handling for Android for the main lemmy instances. Are there any plans to implement this?

Another fantastic update! You guys are killing it! Loving the new comment jump button. Didn’t realise how much I used it in other apps until it wasn’t there anymore. So good to have it back!

Love this update! Very excited for the jump comment button! And I love being able to return to the OG icon. All love and respect to the talented artists who made the newer ones, but the OG one feels “right”!

Where is the ideal place for feature suggestions? It would be nice to be able to press and hold a comment and get a pop-up view of the parent comment it’s replying to. Sometimes you get a comment with a lot of child comments, and by the time I’ve reached the fifth or sixth parent I have forgotten some of the parent comment context. 😆
