    They really are a community of nice people trying to protect their peace, as far as I’ve seen. They just defederated from instances with open registration due to influx of trolls, and a lot of users from those groups got offended over it. It was minor drama, but nothing offensive. It’s a bit sad that they’re still being vilified over it.

      Got my account and started reading and posting today, and you’re right, they are nice people. I had somehow mixed up Beehaw and Hexbear in my head. Big mistake.

      I may end up moving over there as primary just because I’m so tired of the trolls myself.

        Yay, I’m glad you like it there! It’s definitely more slow moving than the rest of Lemmy, but I like their weekly community chats and stuff. Also a killer gardening community.
